Entomologas - An app for learning about Lithuanian insects
Entomologas is an educational app available on Android for people interested in learning about insects, particularly Lithuanian insects. The app has been developed by Edgar Žigis, a biology and computer science student from Lithuania.
The app includes 150 Lithuanian insect species from all the major orders, with high-quality photos, interesting facts, and detailed information about their appearance, life cycle, distribution, ecology, and evolution. In addition to this, there is simple information dedicated to introducing users to insects. The app also includes a quiz with 300 questions to help users learn about Lithuanian insects more easily.
Furthermore, the app features learning progress meters near every insect group. These meters fill up each time users answer quiz questions correctly. The app also includes an order key that can be used for educational purposes. Users can zoom in on pictures by moving their fingers down or pinching them. Lastly, the app does not require an internet connection and can be freely used for teaching purposes. This app is ad-free and will remain free forever.
